How this desk works.
Accuracy is the product. Every number on this platform traces to a primary source with an as-of date — the full ledger is public at Sources & Method. This page covers the rest: who writes, what the AI does, and what happens when we get something wrong.
The workflow
Briefs and signals are researched with AI assistance — sweeping legislative records, agency filings, and trade coverage — and every published item is verified & edited by Christian Hughes (Editor, deathcare.live) before it appears. The AI gathers and drafts; a person verifies against the primary source, decides what it means for operators, and signs it. Nothing publishes on model output alone.
Each brief and signal carries its provenance line — the workflow, the reviewer, and the last-reviewed date. Content last passed a full verification sweep on Aug 19, 2026.
The rules we publish by
- Primary sources first: NFDA and CANA for disposition, SEC filings for the public chains, the FTC docket for federal rules, the state legislature for bill status, and court or attorney-general records for enforcement.
- Projections are labeled as projections, never stated as today's number.
- While the desk comes online, representative figures are marked “Preview edition” — never dressed up as live data.
- Found something out of date? Tell us — a correction is a feature, not an embarrassment.
Corrections
When we get a fact wrong, we correct the item, note the correction on it, and — where the error was load-bearing — say so in the next Dispatch. Spotted something off? Flag it through the contact form or reply to any Dispatch email. A claim you can falsify is a claim we want to hear about — that pressure is what keeps the ledger honest.
What this isn’t
Plain-English policy summaries are orientation, not legal advice. Verify specifics against the bill text — every policy item links to it — and your own counsel before acting on anything here.
